How will GenAI impact software development in 2024 and beyond?
IDC believes GenAI will significantly impact software developer tasks and tools. By 2028, GenAI-based tools will be capable of writing 70% of software tests, decreasing the need for manual testing and improving test coverage, software usability, and code quality.
This will give rise to a new type of developer – one that requires less training and more focused on reviewing AI generated codes and resolving problems from said codes.
